For the benefit of non-members and those inquisitive about our club, SAS (St. Andrew Speakers) is aToastmasters club that meets every Thursday from 7:00 - 8:15 PM at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in West Plano. We conduct our meetings in a fun-filled and supportive atmosphere over laughter, camaraderie and focus on developing our communication and leadership skills. Planning to visit us? Our
club always welcomes and enjoys the company of visitors. You can attend any weekly meeting as a walk-in guest. A club member will greet you and explain what to expect in our meetings. We are a very friendly and out-going club, so don’t be surprised if you are surrounded by people introducing themselves and shaking your hand! Guests are invited to comment on their impressions at the end of the meeting, and invited to return as many times as they wish to visit. Better still, submit an application form to become a member. Once you decide to join, the club will assign you a Mentor, who will guide and assist you through your first two or three speeches, and through the various roles to be performed during those meetings when someone else is giving speeches. Toastmasters does not have an attendance policy; however, the main objective of Toastmasters meetings is Education, and this objective is hard to accomplish without regular attendance at meetings, where both speaking and listening skills can be practiced and polished which in turn foster self-confidence.
