Drinking with friends (and occasionally the Mayor and other Councilmembers) in our beautiful Central Park on a gorgeous May Saturday afternoon? Yes please! 🍻

So many great beer & cider vendors out today -- my new limited-time favorites were the Martin House Brewing Company Pina Colada Coconut Cream Ale with Pineapple (I'm not gonna say how many samplers I went back for but it was more than 4 but less than 10) and the Oak Highlands Brewery Shandy Lemonade (literally perfect for this sunny day).

Pretty sure I'm obligated as someone who's wearing a cast to get out and cast my vote on 😆

But guess what, YOU should get out and vote too! 🗳 City Elections and PISD/WISD School Board Trustees are on the ballot this cycle and need your support. The lines are short so you don't have to wait long to make your voice heard!

We also have an important proposition on the Murphy City ballot regarding the renewal of our 0.25% sales tax that is dedicated to a streets and sidewalks maintenance repair fund. This still leaves 0.25% dedicated to our economic development fund, another 0.50% to our community development fund, and the final 1% to our general fund. Check out these great infographics & FAQS sheets from City Staff for more information.

A bittersweet evening at Murphy Fire Department tonight as we came together to celebrate Assistant Chief Greg Werner's retirement (and new position as Fire Chief in Athens Tx!), and some well-deserved firefighter promotions: newly appointed Assistant Chief Joe Flowers, Lieutenant David Crawford, and Driver/Engineer John Grant. Congratulations to our phenomenal family!
