Happy EMS Week, everyone!
Captain Janelle Keyser began her career in 2004 as a volunteer firefighter and expanded her role into the rescue division in 2008, where she further developed her operational and medical response skills.
Inspired by a personal experience in which a paramedic saved a family member following a traumatic accident, she pursued advanced medical training and became a paramedic, dedicating her career to providing the same level of lifesaving care to others.
She advanced steadily in leadership roles, earning promotion to Lieutenant in 2017 and later to EMS Captain in 2024. She holds 11 state certifications and brings extensive field expertise to all fire rescue operations.
She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management and is currently pursuing a master’s degree, continuing to build on her professional knowledge and leadership in the field of emergency services.
Captain Keyser is currently assigned to A-Shift, and leads the crew on Rescue 56.
We salute you as you follow your calling and for the positive effect you’ve had on the EMS Division, and the residents and visitors in the city of Plantation!
