The GFWC Plantation Woman's Club shows up for our community in so many ways, most especially for our kids.
Thank you for sponsoring the B.I.K.E program each year (Be Kind. Intelligent.Enthusiastic.), in partnership with the Plantation Police.
The 30 students receiving bikes at Peters Elementary School yesterday are sure to enjoy summer riding their new bikes ( with helmets and locks, of course)! π΄π½ββοΈπ΄

Please note that the Marketplace project will NOT be heard on Tuesday evening.
Project presentation delayed
A proposal to develop Plantation Marketplace will not be discussed by the Planning and Zoning Board at the Tuesday, June 2, meeting.
The proposal for apartments was deferred at the May 5 board meeting, as city staff requested a more thorough traffic study.
The applicant has not produced it yet, and city staff also needs time to review it once it is submitted. The earliest the Planning and Zoning Board might hear the presentation is July.
The item is on the June 2 agenda to comply with required notice procedures, but is expected to be deferred immediately.

"We cherish, too, the poppy red
that grows on fields where valor led.
It seems to signal to the skies
that blood of heroes never dies. "

Last week we welcomed 2nd grade students from Mizrahi Torah Academy to City Hall to learn about local government.
The students were introduced to representatives from City of Plantation Parks and Recreation, Plantation Police and Plantation Fire Department, and then Mayor Sortal, City of Plantation Councilmember Louis Reinstein and I helped them to run their own mock City Council meeting.
We love engaging with students during these sessions. Thank you to Administration for arranging these events!
