Satish was one of more than 400 seniors on his local Meals on Wheels provider's waitlist. Diabetes, memory loss and repeated falls made cooking meals dangerous for Satish; for months, he struggled to get by.

Everything changed when Satish started receiving Meals on Wheels. Nutritious meals were delivered to his door five days a week and Satish regained not only his strength and independence but something to look forward to. Across the country, thousands of seniors like Satish are on Meals on Wheels waitlists, waiting for the food, connection and care they need now.

It’s Opening Day for the Florida Panthers, and Meals on Wheels South Florida has an extra special reason to cheer them on this season! 🏒 🐾

We are proud to be the recipient of a Florida Panthers Foundation grant supporting our work to serve older adults in our community who are veterans. Through this partnership, we’ll be able to provide nutritious meals, meaningful connection, and vital support to local veterans as they age with dignity and independence. We are incredibly grateful to the Florida Panthers Foundation for investing in our mission and in the well-being of those who have served our country.

As the Panthers take the ice for a new season, we’re proud to have them on our team and honored to call them a new community partner.

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our new Development Coordinator, Andrea Barton. 💙

Andrea is excited to help introduce more people to the work of Meals on Wheels South Florida and the impact we make in our community every day.

For her, the mission is also deeply personal. Having grown up in the foster care system, Andrea experienced firsthand the power of community and giving back—an experience that makes working in the nonprofit sector especially meaningful to her.

Outside of work, she loves learning new skills and taking on new hobbies. Her latest challenge? Teaching herself how to use a sewing machine! 🧵 And if she could hop on a plane tomorrow, you’d likely find her headed to Japan or China. ✈️

We’re so happy to have Andrea on our team and can’t wait to see all she’ll bring to our mission. Please help us welcome her to the Meals on Wheels South Florida family!
