This year’s EMS Week theme, “Improving Outcomes, Together,” couldn’t be more fitting.
Here at Southwest Health EMS, we could not do what we do without the support of one another, our community, Southwest Health, and the surrounding agencies and communities we proudly serve alongside every day.
We want to take this opportunity to honor and thank all of our neighboring EMS services and first responders and wish everyone a very Happy EMS Week!
Southwest Health EMS would not be the same without the incredible support from Southwest Health, the nurses and staff who are always there for us, our Physician Medical Directors, and our Medical Control Physicians. Thank you for your continued support, guidance, and dedication to helping us provide the best care possible to our patients and communities.

This week (May 10 to May 16) is National Police Week.
It is a time to remember those law enforcement officers that have made the ultimate sacrifice by giving their lives. We also to honor those that have been injured in the line of duty.
It is also a time to say thank-you to the men and women that are currently serving and protecting our communities and our nation.
All of us at Southwest Health EMS want to convey our deepest appreciation to all the law enforcement officers, especially those that we work with on a regular basis - Platteville WI Police Department, UW-Platteville Police, Grant County Sheriff's Office, WI, Cuba City Police Department, Lafayette County Sheriff's Office and Wisconsin State Patrol.
Thank-you for your work to protect and keep us and our communities safe!
Stay Safe!

Today (May 6th) marks the official start of Nurses Week which runs until May 12th, which happens to be Florence Nightingale's birthday (credited as the pioneer of modern nursing).
We appreciate all the nurses that we interact with everyday whether that be at care facilities, hospice, home health, private duty, clinic and of course in the hospitals.
We have the privilege of working alongside some of the greatest, most caring and compassionate nurses daily at Southwest Health.
From all of us at Southwest Health EMS, we hope your week isn't too crazy and you know how much we appreciate you!

Our crews are excited to be a part of this training activity today! With that being said, don't be alarmed if you are near the school campus and observe a large presence of emergency vehicles. This is a planned safety exercise.
Today, our Platteville High School students will be conducting a mock accident training exercise today, Wednesday, April 29, during the afternoon in the Activities Complex Parking Lot. 🚨
If you are near the school campus and observe a large presence of emergency vehicles—including fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars —please do not be alarmed. This is a planned safety exercise designed to help our local first responders and students practice their emergency response protocols. Medflight is also scheduled to be a part of this exercise. 🚁
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our community informed! ✨
