Good morning Pleasant Hill! Today's features some safety guidelines and tips regarding TRICK-OR-TREATING:

We recommend trick-or-treating in areas with good street lighting and dedicated sidewalks or footpaths. Carrying flashlights and wearing reflective material helps you to stay visible to motorists as well as your fellow trick-or-treaters. Keep a close eye on children, taking care to ensure they don't dart into the street or wander away from their group / family. In areas without designated crosswalks, wait to cross the street at corners, and be vigilant in checking for approaching vehicles before you cross.

We hope everyone has a great time this year! And stay tuned to our social media pages for more tips for a spooky but safe Halloween.🎃

Rain came a bit early this week! Some excitement today near Downtown Pleasant Hill. Luckily all parties involved were not injured and Con Fire was able to shut the water off promptly. Just remember when turning large vehicles ensure all blind spots are clear.

Captain Matt Kristic at the City of Pleasant Hill employee Halloween party a couple years ago. Now, we won't tell you who he is..... but we'll give you a hint:

"Nobody makes me bleed my own blood! NOBODY!!"

If you know this guy's name, drop it in the comments ;-)

This month, the Pleasant Hill Police Department is bringing you TOP TIP TUESDAY, where we share some informational and/or safety tips with our community.

With the smell of pumpkin spice in the air, we know that HALLOWEEN is right around the corner and with that in mind, today's features some safety guidelines and tips regarding COSTUMES -

Take care to help children select costumes that fit well and allow for freedom of movement. Ensure face masks do not obstruct their vision. If a costume does not feature lights or reflective material, we suggest outfitting trick-or-treaters with lights or a reflective strip attached to their costume, to help with visibility during the evening and nighttime hours.

We can't wait to see everyone's costume creativity this year! And stay tuned to our social media pages for more tips for a spooky but safe Halloween. 🎃

It's and today we're featuring Officer Nick Filippini, back in 2022 with two of the most adorable SWAT officers we've ever seen! (no offense to our current SWAT personnel buuuut .... we're just sayin'!)

We hope everyone is enjoying the cooler weather (hopefully coming our way this month??) - and all of the pumpkin-flavored everything at the grocery stores right now ;-) Are YOU dressing-up for Halloween this year? Let us know in the comments!

The National Neighborhood Watch Program brings together residents and local law enforcement to help prevent crime, strengthen neighborhoods, and promote community safety.

The Pleasant Hill Police Department has proudly supported Neighborhood Watch since the 1970’s. Through partnerships with residents and businesses, the department works to create neighborhoods that are safe, secure, and welcoming for everyone. Neighborhood Watch encourages neighbors to stay connected, look out for one another, and report suspicious activity. These efforts help deter crime while fostering stronger relationships throughout the community.

Residents interested in starting a Neighborhood Watch group or joining an existing one in their Pleasant Hill neighborhood are encouraged to contact Neighborhood Watch Volunteer Coordinator Vangie Jordan at [email protected] for more information.
