1820's Stagecoach Stop in West Central Illinois
Message for venue rental and for volunteer opertunities

Built in 1824, Clayville is the oldest brick building in Sangamon County and the second oldest in Illinois. In the 1840's, Clayville was a gathering place for the Whig Political Party. The little settlement was named after Henry Clay who they nominated for US President. The historic site is owned by the Pleasant Plains Historical Society. Festivals are in the spring and fall, and we allow for rentals for weddings and private parties along with various other fund raisers provide money for its operation.
