A great time out in the community at the Cruise ‘N Groove Trunk or Treat!

Our Pleasant View Fire crew enjoyed meeting families, passing out non-candy treats to support allergy awareness, and spending time with everyone who stopped by.

Sparky was a crowd favorite, handing out high paws and posing for plenty of pictures!

Thank you to everyone who came out and made this such a fun event. We always enjoy connecting with the community we proudly serve!

Recruit Class 26-2 took on their first night of Firefighter Survival training with Chief Nelms!

The recruits learned the basics of getting out of difficult situations and working through obstacles they may encounter on the fireground.

Another strong night of building skills that could one day save a life.

Earlier today, PVVFD along with Robertson County EMA, EMS and Coopertown PD were dispatched to a high angle rescue. On scene, responders found the operator of a tree trimmer bucket truck trapped 30-35 feet off the ground, due to a failure of the trucks hydraulic system. Thankfully, the operator was in no distress. A high angle rope rescue system, involving ground ladders lashed together, full body harnesses and other technical rescue equipment was constructed. Once the rescue system was in place, rescuers scaled the ladders, made contact and secured the operator to the rescue system. The operator was then able to safely exit the bucket and climb down the ladders.

Thanks to the strong team work from all responders, this “low frequency, high risk” response was performed safely, quickly & effectively.

Recruit Class 26-2 putting in the work today with some hands on training.

Lt. Decker was laying down some knowledge as we combined the classes for a skills check off focused on deck gun flow and pump operations.

Another day of learning, getting reps, and building the skills needed to perform when it matters.

Great work, recruits. Keep pushing forward.
