Supporting someone experiencing abuse starts with listening.
You don’t have to have all the answers to make a difference. Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is listen without judgment, offer support, and remind someone that they are not alone.
The most important part of supporting a survivor of abuse is empowering them to make their own decisions and recognizing that they are the experts in their lives.

💜 This DVAM, let’s recognize the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships. Healthy love is built on respect, trust, and safety—not control, fear, or manipulation.

Everyone deserves to feel safe, valued, and respected. Abuse is never your fault, and you are never alone. đź’ś

đź’ś A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT! đź’ś
Voices Against Violence would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the Campton Police Department, Waterville Valley Department of Public Safety and the Woodstock Police Department for displaying our purple ribbon magnets in support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month! đź’ś
Your participation sends an important message to our communities: domestic violence should never be ignored, survivors deserve support, and no one should have to face abuse alone. We are grateful to work alongside law enforcement agencies that help raise awareness and show survivors that their communities stand with them.
✨ And we’re just getting started! Stay tuned as we highlight more local police departments joining us throughout October to show their support for survivors and help raise awareness about domestic violence.
Together, we can make a difference! đź’ś

When we talk about domestic violence, one of the most frequent questions people ask is, “why don’t they just leave?”.

At Voices, we see firsthand that leaving an abusive relationship is never as simple as just walking out the door. Abuse relies on a complex web of power, control, fear, and systematic barriers that can leave a survivor feeling trapped.

How can you help?

Change the conversation. Instead of asking why someone stays, let’s ask: "How can we help them be safe?”. If someone opens up to you, offer nonjudgemental support, validate their feelings, and help connect them to professional resources. You are not responsible for fixing their situation, but you can help with the connection to safety.

🇨🇺 A NEW NAME, THE SAME CUBAN HEART! ❤️

We want to share some important news with all our customers and our community.

Due to an issue related to the trademark of our current name, Cuba Libre Restaurant will be changing its name to Viva Cuba Restaurant.

We want to make one thing very clear: ONLY OUR NAME IS CHANGING — EVERYTHING ELSE STAYS THE SAME! We’ll continue to have the same team, the same authentic Cuban flavors, the same food made with love, and the same hospitality you know and enjoy.

This change doesn’t change who we are or the commitment we have to each and every one of you. We’re still the same restaurant, with the same passion for Cuban food and culture and the same desire to make you feel at home.

❤️ Thank you for supporting us, trusting us, and being part of our journey. Your support means so much to us, and we look forward to sharing many more great meals and memories with all of you.

New name, same team, same flavors, and the same Cuban soul. 🇨🇺

We can’t wait to welcome you to Viva Cuba Restaurant! See you soon! ❤️
