The Pocahontas County Conservation Board (PCCB) is a county department whose primary goal is to provide a balanced conservation, recreation, and education program to the citizens of Pocahontas County. Hey there parents and students!🐢🌳🐢

Come join Naturalist Adam on Wednesday at 4:30pm at the Pocahontas County Nature Center for an after school program on Turtles! Students will learn about the biology and life history of many different kinds of turtles and even get to meet some real life turtles.

This program is free, and no pre-registration required. We hope to see ya there!

We get a lot of questions this time a year about the brown needles/leaves on evergreen trees. For the most part this is a normal occurrence for a healthy tree.

But if you ever have concerns about your trees give us a call or send us a picture and we are happy to take a look at it and let you know what's going on.

As the nights begin to get chillier the time has come for us to start closing down our parks and campgrounds. We plan to begin the process on Monday, October 26.

We will post updates on our social media pages and website when each park is officially closed.
