Fall leaves are beautiful on the trees, but not so much on our streets!

As the leaves start to fall, help us keep Pocatello’s roadways safe and clear!

Wet leaves can make roads slippery, especially for motorcycles, and piles of leaves can clog storm drains, leading to flooding.

A little leaf cleanup goes a long way!
Thank you for doing your part to keep Pocatello safe this fall!

PRESS RELEASE: City of Pocatello Street Services Transitions to New Winter Work Hours

The City of Pocatello’s Street Services Department will transition to winter work hours beginning Monday, November 2, 2026. Crews will operate Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The updated winter schedule will allow crews to begin maintenance operations earlier in the morning, helping improve road conditions while allowing for a more proactive response to winter weather and better use of available daylight hours.

“By starting earlier, our crews can get ahead of snow and ice accumulation before morning traffic increases,” said Public Works Director Tom Kirkman. “This allows us to work more efficiently, reduce disruptions to school bus routes and commuters, and help keep our roads safer during winter weather.”

After-Hours Emergencies:
Residents needing to report a street-related emergency outside regular business hours should contact the Pocatello Police Department at 208-909-9220. This is a temporary number while the regular dispatch line (208-234-6100) is out of service. Dispatch will notify the appropriate City crew to respond.
