The Mason County Sheriff’s Department is proud to welcome our newest deputy, James Musgrave, to our team.

On Friday, August 21, 2026, James graduated from the Basic Law Enforcement Academy at the West Virginia State Police Academy.

We are extremely excited to have Deputy Musgrave join our department and begin serving the citizens of Mason County.

As many of you know, I take great pride in hiring and supporting our military veterans. James is an honorably discharged United States Marine who proudly served our country. We thank him for his service to our nation, and we are now honored to have him continue that commitment by serving and protecting our community.

Please join us in congratulating Deputy Musgrave and welcoming him to the Mason County Sheriff’s Department. We are proud to have you on the team, James, and look forward to all that you will accomplish in service to Mason County!

PRESS RELEASE

In the early morning hours of Monday, July 20, the Mason County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence on Franklin Avenue in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.

During the search, deputies seized approximately 9.2 ounces of suspected fentanyl and crack co***ne, as well as $45,443 in United States currency.

Terrence Ingram, Rochelle Dobbins, and Anita McKinney were arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver. All three were booked into the Western Regional Jail.

I would like to thank Deputy C. Turner for his initial investigation and continued efforts throughout this case. I would also like to recognize Lt. J. Lee, Sgt. Kendall Roush, Deputy B. Jones, and Deputy C. McCoy for their work and assistance.

We also appreciate the assistance of Capt. B. Morrow and the Point Pleasant Police Department throughout the investigation. I would like to thank Chief C.K. Zerkle and Capt. C.A. Varian for their coordinated efforts throughout the process.

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to fighting the drug epidemic in our community and working with our local law enforcement partners to protect the citizens we serve.

Over the past couple of years, we have been very conservative in releasing public information regarding ongoing investigations. This approach has been intentional, as we have worked to protect the integrity of the investigative and prosecutorial processes. We have coordinated with the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office regarding the release of this information.

As always, all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
