9/5/26 Incident Update

At approximately 2pm this afternoon, Finley Point Fire was dispatched to a single vehicle (motorcycle) accident on highway 35, just north of mile marker 11.

Two patients were stabilized on scene and transported to the hospital. Further details are unavailable at this time.

Finley Point Fire would like to remind those traveling on the 35 to be patient and vigilant - Hwy 35 has little room for error, with a narrow shoulder and many S curves. We will likely see heavy rain over the next few days, increasing travelers risk.

Please be safe everyone, and enjoy the holiday weekend

Incident Update: At approximately 6:40pm on September 2nd, Finley Point Fire was dispatched for a smoke investigation on the east side of highway 35, near Skidoo Bay Lane. It was quickly confirmed that we had an active burn off of Boulder Creek Road, originating from a lightning strike.

Mutual aid was requested from Polson Rural Fire District, and together we were able to locate the fire and extinguish it before it spread from the site of the strike. At approximately 8:45pm, the scene was turned over to CSKT division of fire.

A huge thank you to all our responders, and a special shout out to our partners at Polson Rural!

Pictures from our wildland fire training exercise this week! We focused on truck/equipment deployment, scene size-up, and grass fire attack tactics (with an obstacle course and objectives aimed to teach those tactics).

Recognition to our first responders who volunteer their time every Wednesday evening to train and prepare to serve our community!
