Dear Pomeroy Elementary Families,
Pomeroy Elementary is getting a new HVAC system!!! Throughout this project, large equipment and contractors will be present on campus.
Safety remains our number one priority, and we will take every precaution necessary to ensure the safety of all students, staff, and visitors during construction. Due to the scope and timeline of the project, it is imperative that work begins immediately rather than waiting until summer break.
Beginning tomorrow, the project will impact the east and south entrances of the building. This will affect the arrival and dismissal procedures for students in Transitional Kindergarten through 1st grade.
Students will still be able to use the playground as normal; however, lineup locations will change. Teachers will guide students to the new lineup areas beginning tomorrow.
For TK–1st grade families who meet their child after school, teachers will es**rt students out the west end of the building (the front entrance) and help direct them toward Columbia Street for pickup with their families. This isn’t much of a change, except how your child will be coming out of the building.
We will continue to communicate any additional changes as the project progresses. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we work to improve our school facilities for students and staff.
Sincerely,
Rachel Gwinn, Superintendent
