Congratulations to Officer Jacqueline Gonzalez, honored today as the Pomona Veteran of the Year by Assemblymember Michelle Rodriguez. She was recognized for her service in the Navy and her work with Pomona’s youth as a police officer. Well done!

All fireworks are illegal in Pomona. Our Major Crimes Task Force made a large seizure while conducting enforcement last night. Over 1,000 pounds! Our disposal bin was overflowing. LA County Fire Prevention will be disposing of these fireworks today. Great work!

One more proud Chief brag for the week. Congratulations to Corporal Jacqueline Smith, who received the U.S. Attorney’s Office Agency Award yesterday. She earned this prestigious honor for her exceptional work on a complex human trafficking investigation with the FBI this work led to a federal life sentence for a pimp involved in trafficking multiple minors in Pomona.

Congratulations to Officer Yasmin Rodriguez, who has been honored by the Ontario Elks Lodge as the Officer of the Year. Officer Rodriguez was recognized for her dedication and service to the City of Pomona. She currently works patrol with her K9 partner Athena. Great job!

Congratulations to Officer Moran-Osorto, Pomona’s newest officer. Had the pleasure of swearing him in after he graduated from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Academy.

Congrats to PPD Motor Officer Varnum and LA Co. Fire Captain Frey. They were chosen by the Optimist Club as public safety members of the year. Quite an honor!
