Hello WesternU Lions!!

The Los Angeles County Optometric Society (LACOS) is looking for student volunteers for the annual Feria de Salud health fair for a Vision Screening. It will be on Sunday 11/09 from 10-3PM. There are two shifts 10am-1pm and 12pm-3pm and volunteers will be provided with a lunch. Where: Olvera Street Plaza, 520 N Main St, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

This will be a great opportunity to practice your Spanish, see a variety of patients (non-stop, approximately 300 patients are expected), and meet students from CSU Long Beach, USC, and UCLA. Also, you will be getting hours if you are in Lions Club or for Service Learning if you are in our committee.

First General Meeting Today (Monday 09/29, , in HEC Classroom E).

Hey everyone! There will be a Lions Club General Meeting 09/29 @ noon in Classroom E. We will be announcing our next few Vision Screening Health Fairs/Events and an upcoming trip to Mexico!

Also, membership fees will be collected at this time ($25 for new members and renewals) and lunch will be served.

WesternU Lions Club will be at Club Day tomorrow! Learn how to become a member of the largest community service organization in the world! We will also be selling TASTEA!!!! Bring CASH!

We have been invited by our lions club faculty sponsor, Dr. Sugerman, to join the Pomona Health Fair on Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 8 AM– 4 PM. (655 N. Mills Ave, Pomona) There will be between 800 -1,000 people there that day. With the high number of patients expected to attend, they need all the help they can get.
