Please be advised that the Borough of Bloomingdale Animal Control has announced the upcoming rabies clinic for the fall of 2026. The Borough of Pompton Lakes will be having our rabies clinic on Saturday, November 14, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Pompton Lakes Fire Department, located at 1 Passaic Avenue.

Please also note an important reminder to not feed the wildlife as it does more harm than good. When wildlife is intentionally fed, there is an accidental disrupting of nature's balance that can put both animals and humans at risk. Wildlife should not be fed as it can cause a loss of natural fear, an increased risk of aggressive interactions, health and safety risks, wildlife being brought out of their natural habitat, property damage and nuisance problems, danger to pets, and an increased risk of vehicle accidents. Please ensure that your pets' rabies vaccinations are up to date as it is one of the most important ways to protect your pets from rabies, which can be a deadly disease.

Please be advised beginning Monday, October 19, 2026, the Pompton Lakes Borough Municipal Utilities Authority will conduct its Semiannual Hydrant Flushing Program. The hydrant flushing will be performed during the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. to cause the least inconvenience to customers. Customers may experience a temporary discoloration in their water or a drop in water pressure during the program.

🚲 Complete Streets Technical Assistance – Public Hearing

The Borough of Pompton Lakes invites residents and community members to attend a Complete Streets Technical Assistance Public Hearing on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Borough Hall, 25 Lenox Avenue.

The hearing will focus on recommendations for improvements to the Wanaque Avenue corridor, with an opportunity for residents to learn more and provide feedback.

The Borough was honored to receive the Community Champion Award from the Passaic County City Green Dig In Program in recognition of our ongoing efforts to make our community greener and more beautiful.

Councilman Venin accepted the award on behalf of the Borough, recognizing our continued work to plant trees, native shrubs, and daffodils throughout the community. 🌿

Please join the Pompton Lakes Environmental Protection Committee for their Downtown Clean Up event on Sunday, October 25, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The day will start at the new Civic Center where supplies will be given to everyone. Volunteers make a difference in the community as we can work together to help keep Pompton Lakes clean!
