INTEGRIS Health Ponca City Hospital has been extremely helpful over the last few weeks! As an extension of the Day of Caring projects (United Way of North Central Oklahoma, Inc.) , they’ve moved our furniture, packed supplies, crafted t-shirt bags, and more!

Hey, this is Christopher. I am hopping on here to thank everyone who stepped in at NERA to serve today. It’s not easy to provide more than 6,000 lbs of food to 60 households and 30 unhoused neighbors each day. Knowing that you are feeding our neighbors while I’m out of town means the world. Today I get to meet up with friends across the state at the Hunger Free Oklahoma conference -including Michelle Owen (pictured here) of the Fish and Loaves pantry in Tonkawa. We are learning about new, innovative ways to provide food access. Your help makes progress possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 🙏🏻

With more than 70 volunteer hours in 2026, Jamecia has become a familiar face at NERA, helping stock shelves and prepare our grocery center before neighbors arrive.

But there's more to Jamecia than her dedication to helping others! 🎨 She's also a talented artist whose work has earned first-place recognition!

What inspires Jamecia to volunteer, and how does she balance giving back with family life and her other interests?

In honor of Hunger Action month, Senator Bill Coleman stopped by NERA to discuss the ways food insecurity and local food systems are affecting neighbors in his district. “When I drive to work every morning, I see hungry people lined up outside of NERA. When I leave work every evening, I see hungry people lined up outside of Friendship Feast. I am committed to making sure we can do everything we can to help the hungry people in our community.”
We thank Senator Coleman for bringing attention to the issues our neighbors face.
