From Holmes District School Board:

Holmes County Schools will reopen on Tuesday, October 13.

We understand that many families may still be without power as our community continues to recover from the storm. Attendance will be handled with flexibility for the remainder of the week on a case-by-case basis for families experiencing storm-related hardships.

🚌 Transportation Update:

Buses will not run on dirt roads.

Some paved roads may also be unsafe for buses due to low-hanging limbs and power lines.

Bus drivers will contact families if they are unable to run their normal route.

The safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff remain our top priority. Thank you for your patience, grace, and understanding as we navigate this together.

10/11/2026

Please help us spread the word, as we understand that some families may be without power or cell phone service.

From Holmes District School Board:

Holmes County Schools will be CLOSED on Monday, October 12 due to continued widespread power outages throughout the county. We understand that this is a challenging time for our families and employees, and we want to allow everyone time to focus on recovery efforts.

At this time, we plan to reopen on Tuesday. However, we will continue to monitor and assess conditions throughout the county, and will work with our families and their individual unique challenges. Please continue to monitor ParentSquare and our official page for updates regarding Tuesday. Thank you for your patience as we all navigate these trying times. The safety and well-being of our families and employees is our top priority .

10/11/2026

We hope all of our families are safe and have sustained only minimal damage from the storm. As we begin planning for the coming week, we need to determine how many of our families are currently without power.

A Post-Hurricane Check-In: Power Survey has been emailed to families. Parents, please complete the survey in ParentSquare so the district can accurately assess our families’ needs.

If you did not receive the email, please let us know.

We will be able to let the district know.
