⚡️🔥Day 4 of Fire Prevention Week: Don't Block Your
Exit Routes!
We are halfway through Fire Prevention Week! Today, we are focusing on larger battery-powered items like e-bikes, e-scooters, and hoverboards. Because these devices have massive batteries, they need extra space and caution.
Top Tip for Day 4: Never charge your e-bike or e-scooter in a hallway, doorway, or right next to an exit.
If the battery catches fire while charging, it can instantly block your only way out of the building.
Always charge larger micromobility devices in a dedicated, safe area away from your primary escape routes, and never leave them charging overnight while you sleep.

Day 3 of Fire Prevention Week: Know the
Warning Signs of a Failing Battery!

It's Day 3 of Fire Prevention Week, and today we are focusing on awareness. Lithium-ion batteries usually give off warning signs before they overheat or cause a fire. Knowing what to look for can save lives.
Top Tip for Day 3: Stop using or charging a device immediately if you notice any of these danger signs:

🌡️Extreme heat:The device feels unusually hot to the touch.

🎈Swelling: The battery looks puffy, bloated, or
warped.

👃Strange odor: You notice a chemical or burning
Odd noises: The device is making hissing or
popping sounds.

If you see these signs, turn off the device (if safe), move it away from anything flammable, and check the National Fire Protection Association guidelines for proper handling.

⚡️Day 2 of Fire Prevention Week: Give Your Devices Breathing Room!🔥

Welcome to Day 2 of Fire Prevention Week! Today, we are talking about where you charge your tech.
Lithium-ion batteries naturally generate heat when they draw power. If you charge your phone, tablet, or laptop on a bed, pillow, or couch, that heat gets trapped. This can cause the battery to overheat, fail, or even catch fire.

Top Tip for Day 2: Always charge your devices on a hard, flat, and well-ventilated surface like a desk, countertop, or table. Keep them out of direct sunlight and away from anything that can easily burn!
Stay safe and get more resources from the National Fire Protection Association.

It’s officially Fire Safety week!

⚡ Day 1 of Fire Prevention Week: Safe Charging Is a Superpower! 🔋

It is officially Fire Prevention Week! This year, we are focusing on how simple daily habits can stop battery fires before they start. From phones and laptops to e-bikes and power tools, lithium-ion batteries power our world—but they need the right care.

Top Tip for Day 1: Always use the charger that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer.
Never charge devices on soft surfaces like beds or couches where heat can get trapped. Charge on a hard, flat surface instead!
