Late Post

This past Saturday (October 17, 2026) your Pooler Fire-Rescue firefighters were dispatched to the 1700 block of Old Quacco Road for a reported structure fire.

Engine 603 and Battalion 601 arrived on scene to find a single story trailer with additions that had no conditions evident on arrival. Upon investigation, it was determined that there was light smoke showing and a small amount of fire working between the walls, ceiling, and roof near the C/D corner of the occupancy. A working fire was declared, and Truck 601 and Engine 601 assisted with gaining access to the fire, which proved difficult due to its location at the joint of the original and addition of the structure. Truck 602 and Engine E604 assisted with manpower on scene.

The fire was knocked down, and overhaul was completed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Resources on scene: Engines 603, 601, 601, Trucks 601, 602, Water Tender 601, Battalion 601, Chiefs 601, 603.

September 2026 Run Stats,

Pooler Fire-Rescue is continuing its trend of over 500 calls monthly through September, and October is off to a busy start as well. We are still on pace to be busier than 2025, with a current call volume increase of 6.39% year-to-date.

In the second picture we have company responses, and if you compare September to August, you'll see that Rescue 601 lost calls. That's not an accident, these numbers are adjusted to measure responses, not dispatches.

Some resources are cross-staffed (more specifically Rescue 601 with Truck 601 and Engine 602 with Truck 602) where the firefighters are assigned two vehicles and respond in one or the other. Depending on the call type, one resource may be dispatched. However, whether it is due to the call type, specific details pertaining to the incident, or being in the other apparatus already, the vehicle dispatched did not respond, the other vehicle was taken in its stead.

We have removed instances where this apparatus was dispatched and did not respond, which is why the numbers are different.

As always, we are here and ready to help when you need us most! With fire safety month here, don't forget to practice your exit plan, change the batteries in your smoke detectors and make sure they are within the 10 year life span, and close the doors to bedrooms when you sleep to help keep your families safe in the event of a fire!
