The Virginia Peninsula Literary Consortium will host an author talk with Sarah Vowell at 7PM on Thursday, Oct. 29 at The American Theatre, 125 E Mellen St, Hampton. Free tickets are available at the library on a first come, first served basis, with up to two tickets per person allowed. Vowell will hold a book signing at the event, with books available for purchase at the venue.

All Ages. Celebrate International Games Month with a day of family fun, connection, and play at the library’s GamesCon! Dress up as your favorite character and come on over to PPL for giant versions of classic games, Pokemon Go, Mario Kart, a chess tournament, a make-your-own-puzzle station, and much, much more!

2nd - 5th graders are welcome to "drop in" anytime between 5-7pm on Thursday for this month's Art Studio program, Painting Potluck!

This month's theme is all about exploring a "potluck" of different painting styles! We are serving up a buffet of choices; from watery watercolors, to texture painting with acrylic mediums and even painting some miniature food! You can sample a little bit of everything or do your own thing!

No experience necessary! We provide all of the materials, inspiration, and guidance, and all you need is your creativity!

Date: Thursday, October 8th
Time: 5 - 7 PM (drop-in style - kids can come anytime, for as long as they like!)

Get ready for "Sesame Street and the Great Elephant Adventure," as Elmo, Abby, and Nina travel to Kenya to meet an orphaned elephant and discover amazing African wildlife!

We are SO EXCITED to be partnering with WHRO and hosting TWO FREE previews of this new show for kids of all ages right here at Poquoson Public Library on October 10th at 11AM and 2PM!
