Clallam County GOP This is the official page of the Clallam County GOP. We think people deserve a hand up, and not a hand out.

The Clallam County Republican Party exists to help promote the Republican belief that it is the people, and not the government that make this country so great. We believe that it is the government’s job to help people achieve all they can be, but to not run their lives for them. For our full 2012 platform, please click here:

Our page exists to help promote the Republican ideals and principals, and we hope it will be a source of information to all that visit it. As Republicans, we agree that everybody has a voice. If you choose to use yours on our page, whether you agree or disagree with us, that is fine. We ask that all comments be respectful, and free of foul language. Any posts that resort to name calling, promoting racism, or items of that nature will be deleted, and the individual may be blocked from our page.

Did you know some of Washington's public forests help pay for schools, roads, fire departments, libraries and other essential services?

They're called π—¦π—§π—”π—§π—˜ 𝗧π—₯𝗨𝗦𝗧 π—Ÿπ—”π—‘π——π—¦.

The Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR) manages millions of acres of these lands, generating revenue through timber harvesting, agricultural leases and other activities.

The money supports designated public beneficiaries, including schools and local governments.

DNR is requesting $30 MILLION from the Legislature for its 2027-2029 Trust Land Transfer program.

This program allows certain trust lands to be transferred for conservation or other public purposes, with funding used to compensate the trusts and support replacement investments.

One proposed transfer involves land near Dabob Bay in Jefferson County on the Olympic Peninsula.

Washington's forests serve several important purposes:

🌲 Supporting timber and forestry-related jobs.
🏫 Generating revenue for schools and public services.
πŸš’ Helping fund local services in counties that benefit from State Forest trust lands.
🦌 Protecting wildlife habitat, clean water and recreational opportunities.

These goals can sometimes compete, making decisions about forest management especially important.

When Washington changes how public trust lands are managed, how do we ensure that rural communities, local services and future generations are all considered?

The Legislature elected this November will help determine funding for the proposed transfers and future natural-resource priorities.

πŸ“¬ As ballots arrive, take time to learn where candidates stand on sustainable timber production, conservation and protecting revenue for public services.

How should Washington balance timber jobs, conservation and funding for local communities?
