This past week Port Aransas Surf Rescue travel to the east coast of Florida in Fort Lauderdale to compete at the 2026 USLA National Lifeguard Competition. This is the 3rd year we have competed along side the best lifeguards in the country and it is always an absolute pleasure.
This year we had 2 women as Beach Flag finalists, our women’s team making the final for 4x90, women’s finalist for landline, male finalists for Board rescue, as well as individual finalist for age group 90m sprint (3rd place finish) and finalist for the Run- Swim- Run.
We are extremely proud of our lifeguards for their performance at nationals. Every year, our team continues to improve and we always come back wanting to do more and compete harder. We want to say thank you to our team that stayed behind to protect our beaches and allowed us to represent them and the City of Port Aransas on a national level.
We are beyond thankful for the opportunity to experience lifeguarding and athletics at its peak once again and will be back for more next year.
Thank you to Fort Lauderdale for an amazing event US Lifesaving Association WATERMEN
