Thank you to the United Way of Orange County and our volunteers from the Orange Texas Rotary Club for coming and transforming our space 💙

💙 Day of Caring in action!

Our volunteers spent the day giving back across Orange County, tackling projects that included painting and landscaping, painting parking lot stripes, staining fences, and yard maintenance.

A big thank-you to the volunteers who rolled up their sleeves and made a difference at The Salvation Army Orange TX and Samaritan Counseling and Wellness Center
along with all of the organizations who welcomed our volunteers!

Together, we’re strengthening our community—one project at a time.

Sometimes the people who are struggling the most are not always the people we expect. They may still go to work, take care of their family, laugh, smile, and seem like everything is okay. We really never know what someone may be dealing with behind the scenes. This is why checking in with the people in our lives is so important.

Sometimes just asking someone, “Are you okay?” can give them the chance to say what they have been holding inside. We do not always have to know the right thing to say. We do not have to fix everything. Sometimes just listening and letting someone know they are not alone can make a difference.

Check on your friends. Check on your family. If someone seems different, ask them how they are really doing. Most importantly, take the time to listen.
There is always hope, and there is help available. If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Help is available 24 hours a day.

Another thank you to Kraftsman Commercial Playgrounds & Water Parks for your generous donation of cooling towels. With the rain we had on Tuesday and the 95° “Fall” weather we are still having they were a very welcome addition!🥵💦

A brief glimpse into our why. Thank you Orange Texas Run Club for understanding and supporting us so we can show up for someone who may need it the most.

What a night!
Whenever we started the run club a few years ago one morning I posted that Jesus changed the world with 12 people imagine what we can do with 100.
Well over time 100 has grown to 1000 some odd runners who have shared miles on 16th Street and tonight is one of the nights that I know our mission is missioning.

A few years ago I got to meet James Broussard through the run club and he told me about his son Tyler Clark who passed away from su***de. This resonated with me because
1. I am a su***de attempt survivor and
2. It gave me a reason to want to become public and spread awareness and gave me the courage to reach out to collaborate with Samaritan Counseling and Wellness Center on the behalf of the Broussard family and help raise money for their cause the last two years. It has been our mission and will continue to be our mission to do this.

Tonight as the rain poured down and we questioned on if we’d have to cancel our run, James and his family showed up and almost immediately the rain stopped, the sun came out, and we were able to enjoy a night of running. Thank you Tyler for those rays of sunshine ☀️

Then Austin Foy tells me he has started a run group at his church that I will share more details about as I get them from him.

These are the nights and moments where we change lives. These are the nights we grow together. These are the nights where we come together as one and give a place for all to find common ground.
I encourage you to come next week and run with us as well whenever Samaritan comes back and help us raise even more money for the cause.

Thank you to everyone who came tonight! We’re only growing stronger!
