Leadership Rooted in Service.

Vote Phillip Carter for State Representative District 76 on November 3! His campaign is about putting people over party to deliver real results for Southwest Florida.

To find out more about Phil or to donate, go to: https://www.carter4florida.com

Phillip Carter is an Air Force veteran who has dedicated his life to serving others. Now, he's stepping up to serve District 76—bringing integrity, transparency, and accountability back to public office.

This campaign isn't about politics as usual. It's about restoring trust and making sure hardworking families, small business owners, seniors, and veterans have a voice in Tallahassee.

He understands that families are feeling the pressure of rising costs—from housing and insurance to everyday essentials—and believes government should focus on practical solutions that ease that burden.

He also knows that responsible growth and protecting our natural resources are essential to preserving the quality of life that makes Southwest Florida home.

Montavon has pledged not to accept corporate PAC contributions. His campaign also calls for campaign-finance reform to limit political donations and increase transparency, arguing that elections should be decided by voters rather than wealthy corporations and billionaires.

Campaign-finance reform: I support laws to limit campaign donations and make political financing more transparent.
People over special interests: I believe that voters, not corporate money, should determine election outcomes.

Bottom line: Steube’s fundraising record shows that he accepts PAC money, and the records reviewed do not establish that he advocates banning it.

Florida courts clobbered the Republican Party twice today.

One judge denied the G.O.P.’s scheme to remove a Democratic Party ad focused on the Hope Florida scandal, while an appeals court refused to ban publication of the grand jury report that set off the whole hubbub.

You may be curious about the ad and why Republicans are so eager to have it censored, just as they tried to bury a grand jury report that found top Republican officials “misappropriated” $10 million that should have gone to sick children.

Curious about the grand jury report that was leaked after Gov. Ron DeSantis and his minions worked so hard to keep it secret? You can read it and share it with your friends, too, when you forward this email. Here’s the link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15YSC5ztguz1srPqz65ibtZSnD5LwmNot/view?pli=1

This was Donald Trump’s Saturday night: a MAGA Inc. dinner at Mar-a-Lago, with wealthy supporters and prominent business figures in attendance.

To me, the scene captures something deeply troubling about American politics. People with extraordinary financial resources can gather around a president while ordinary voters wonder how to get their concerns heard.

Attendance at a fundraiser does not prove anyone bought a government decision. Claims about specific favors require evidence. But the public has every right to ask who is donating, what interests they have before the government, and whether those interests receive preferential treatment.

Transparency should be the minimum expectation when political fundraising brings private wealth into close contact with public power.

A president serves people who could never afford admission to an exclusive donor dinner, too. Their healthcare, wages, housing, and futures deserve attention without a contribution attached.

This is why the influence of big money deserves scrutiny, regardless of party.

If elected leaders want public trust, they should welcome disclosure and meaningful safeguards against conflicts of interest.

Does this look like a healthy democracy to you?

Matthew Montavon is proud to receive the endorsement of the Florida LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus!

Matthew has always believed public service means serving everyone, not just a select few. His record of service reflects that commitment, and in Congress, he will continue fighting for full LGBTQ+ equality, dignity, protections, and the freedom for every Floridian to live authentically without discrimination.

We are proud to have the Florida LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus standing with us as we take this fight to November.

ENDORSEMENT ALERT

We are incredibly honored and grateful to announce that Matthew Montavon has received the official endorsement from Florida Veterans for Common Sense!

FLVCS is a powerful, non-partisan voice dedicated to supporting our service members, protecting democratic principles, and advocating for practical solutions. Receiving their trust means everything to this campaign.

In Congress, Matthew will always stand up for Southwest Florida's veterans by fighting for expanded veterans' services, cutting bureaucratic waste to safeguard earned benefits, and ensuring our military families return home to the world-class care, housing, and respect they deserve.

Thank you, FLVCS, for your service to our country and for standing with Montavon for Congress as we work to bring accountability and common-sense leadership to Florida's 17th District!
