๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Thank You for a Wonderful Summit on Aging!

What a great morning of learning, conversation, and collaboration at our 2026 Ottawa County Summit on Aging: โ€œProtecting Independence: 250 Ways to Safeguard Our Future.โ€

We welcomed 46 attendees who came ready to learn more about protecting themselves, their loved ones, and the older adults in our community from scams, fraud, financial exploitation, and other growing risks.

๐Ÿ‘ Thank you to our incredible speakers and panelists for sharing your expertise, real-world experiences, and practical strategies. Our evaluations showed that attendees walked away feeling more confident and with information they can put into action and share with others.

โค๏ธ Thank you to all of our sponsors whose generosity helped make this event possibleโ€”from breakfast, beverages and supplies to folders, pens, water, and all of the little details that helped make the morning a success!

And a very special thank you to the members of the Ottawa County Task Force on Aging Summit Committee. Months of planning, meetings, ideas, phone calls, coordination, and teamwork went into making this event happen. We are fortunate to have so many organizations and individuals willing to work together for Ottawa County's older adults.

Finally, thank you to everyone who attended! Your questions, participation, and feedback are what make events like this worthwhile.

One evaluation summed up the day perfectly:

โ€œGreat job done by everyone today!โ€ โค๏ธ

We couldn't agree more!

Together, we are working to build a safer, stronger and more informed Ottawa County.

๐Ÿ’œ Thank You for Helping Raise Awareness About Elder Abuse ๐Ÿ’œ

A heartfelt thank you to Ottawa County Commissioners Mark Coppler and Don Douglas for joining us at the Danbury Senior Center to read a proclamation in recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day in Ottawa County.

We are grateful for your support in bringing attention to this important issue and helping raise awareness about the prevention of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation in our community.

Thank you as well to the members of the Ottawa County Task Force on Aging, the Ottawa County Senior Resources team, Adult Protective Services, and the older adults from across our community who joined us for today's proclamation reading and ice cream social. Your participation demonstrates our shared commitment to protecting, respecting, and supporting older adults.

This event is one of the many programs Adult Protective Services has provided to bring awareness of the extent of senior exploitation and scams.

Together, we can help ensure that all older adults are treated with the dignity, respect, and care they deserve.
