Joint Engineering Engagement

NMCB 5 recently had the pleasure of meeting with our counterparts with the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF)! Our detachments on the islands of Yap and Peleliu engaged in weeks long evolutions on surveying and projects, reinforcing technical capabilities on the field.

Meanwhile, Captain Auger, Commanding Officer, NMCB 5, had the opportunity to meet with the operations staff of the JMSDF and our higher staff with Commander, Task Force 75, to discuss port damage repair capabilities.

Keep up the great work and show the fleet why we're the !

Seabees in the spotlight: Det Iwakuni

Seabees in the Spotlight: Detail Sasebo

These hard-charging Seabees are laying the foundation for mission success across the PACOM AO. Their critical construction projects directly empower our surface fleet to stay mission-ready and operate forward!

The team recently welcomed CAPT Beattie, NAVFAC Far East Commanding Officer, who stopped by to see the crew in action and witness firsthand the incredible work being built on the ground.

Keep up the great work and show the fleet why we're the !

Alii, Palau!
Building Stronger Communities, Together

True security begins with strong friendships and resilient communities. Across the island of Palau, our Seabees are honored to work together with our local hosts and partners:

In Koror: Our detachment is focused on restoring essential community infrastructure, ensuring local families and neighborhoods have the sustainable public works they rely on every day.

In Peleliu: Seabees are teaming with the U.S. Marine Corps to work directly alongside the Palauan government, designing community-focused engineering solutions that honor the island’s heritage and build for its future.

More than concrete and steel, these projects build trust, mutual respect, and enduring ties across the Pacific.
