We don’t make comparisons like this lightly. We make them when history starts sounding too familiar.

According to The Wall Street Journal, citing U.S. officials, the federal probe into Rep. Ilhan Omar is aimed at revoking the citizenship she has held since she was a teenager, and then removing her from the country.

Agents searched her home Monday and took her phone, her computers, her notebooks and her passport.

The pretext is a decades-old question about whether her late father listed her as 17 or 18 on immigration paperwork. Investigators under Biden already examined a similar allegation and dropped it for lack of evidence of fraud.

The Washington Post reported this week that Trump’s own officials scrutinized her citizenship back in 2019 and found nothing either.

So what changed? She kept criticizing him.

Germany in the 1930s had no courts willing to stop it, and ours still can.

That’s exactly why the early steps matter. Authoritarian regimes have always reached for the paperwork first: who counts as a citizen, who gets to travel, whose sense of belonging can be revisited at the state’s discretion.

They start with people the public has been taught to see as outsiders, and they test what everyone else will tolerate.

So? Have we reached our threshold yet?

This is huge. IMO, turnout is going to decide the midterms - not money or GOP/MAGA efforts to steal them.
