👨🏾‍🚒🔥Ever wonder what firefighters see when they enter a fire? … NOT MUCH

When firefighters enter a smoke-filled building, they wear a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). The mask protects their eyes and face while providing clean, breathable air from a tank carried on their back.

Inside a structure fire, visibility can be extremely limited. Firefighters may be working in darkness, extreme heat, and heavy smoke while relying on their training, equipment, and each other to find individuals and locate the source of the fire.

That mask isn't just protection — it's what allows firefighters to go where others can't.

🏠 Fire Safety Tip: Have an escape plan for your home and choose a meeting location outside where everyone can gather after escaping. A designated meeting spot helps you quickly know who made it out safely. Once you’re outside, stay outside.

🚒 A Visit to the Fire Station!

We were happy to welcome Representative Emily Randall to the fire station this week!

Representative Randall stopped by to meet with members of our fire district, learn more about the work we do every day, and got a firsthand look at the people, equipment, and resources that help us serve our community.

We appreciate her taking the time to visit, connect with our members, and learn more about the challenges and needs facing fire and emergency services.

Thank you for stopping by Representative Randall! 👩‍🚒🚒

🔋Charge large items like e-bikes, scooters, and power tools outside when possible. Do not block exits when charging. These batteries store more energy, and fires can grow quickly if they fail.
