Port Orford Fire Department RFPD

Call Directions

Port Orford Fire Department RFPD We are a volunteer fire department serving Port Orford, Oregon and the surrounding area.

10/26/2026

Effective Today, Monday, October 26th, 2026. Fire Season and the Regulated Use Closure will be terminated.

Debris burning is now allowed, but please keep your burns limited to wood and paper products. Paper products should be burned in an enclosed area with a screen, such as a burn barrel, to prevent large ash particles from escaping.

For safety, we recommend the following guidelines for debris burning:
•Clear Surroundings: Ensure that the area around the burn pile is cleared of any flammable materials.
•Fire Tools and Water: Have fire tools (such as shovels and rakes) and a sufficient supply of water readily available at the burn site.
•Attend the Fire: Remain in attendance until the burn pile is completely out. Do not leave the site unattended at any time.

CFPA would like to thank everyone for their cooperation this fire season!

FIRE SEASON REMINDER:

Although the Oregon Department of Forestry has declared the end of fire season in some districts, fire season remains in effect throughout the Coos Forest Protective Association (CFPA) district.

All debris burning remains strictly prohibited.
Recent rain does not mean fire danger is gone. Dry conditions can return quickly, and even a small fire can spread and threaten our communities, homes, and forests.

Please continue to follow all regulated use restrictions until CFPA officially announces changes for our district.

Fire season still in effect

While the Coos Forest Protective Association (CFPA) district has received some rain, conditions have not improved enough to end fire season.

All debris burning remains strictly prohibited. We ask the public to continue following all current regulated use restrictions and to use caution with any activities that could start a wildfire.

CFPA will provide updates as conditions change. Thank you for helping us protect our communities, forests, and natural resources.
