Get ready, Otters! Our PBIS-sponsored Dress Up Day is Wednesday, October 28, 2026! 🎉

Students can use 35 Otter Bucks they've earned to participate in this fun event!

💰 IMPORTANT: PAYMENT MUST BE MADE IN ADVANCE!

Students will pay their 35 Otter Bucks next week, BEFORE Dress Up Day. Once they have paid, students will be sent home with a wristband indicating they have paid to participate.

🚨 PLEASE REVIEW OUR COSTUME RULES:

✅ Costumes must be school-appropriate.

🚫 No violence or violent costumes.

🚫 No weapons or weapon accessories.

🚫 No blood or gore.

🚫 No costume masks or face coverings.

We want this to be a fun, safe, and exciting day for ALL of our Otters! 💙💛

🦦🌿 Wilderness Club Update! 🌿🦦

We are excited by the incredible interest in Wilderness Club this year! Our Fall/Winter Session (November–January) is now FULL. 🎉

Good news, though! We still have 12 spots available in our Spring Session (February–April) for 4th and 5th grade students who love exploring the outdoors. 🌳🐾

Club members will have opportunities to: 🐦 Learn about birdwatching
🐾 Discover animal tracks and signs of wildlife
🍃 Identify Florida's native plants and animals
🌳 Explore our beautiful woodlands
🧭 Practice outdoor safety and forest etiquette

📅 Spring Session: February–April
⏰ Tuesdays from 7:10–8:15 AM
⚠️ Only 18 students will be accepted for the session on a first-come, first-served basis.

📝 If your child already has a permission slip, please return it as soon as possible to secure one of the remaining spots. Students may also see Mrs. Slappey in Room 410 to pick up a permission slip.

We can't wait to see our young explorers discover the amazing natural world right here in our Rivers Edge backyard! 🌲💚🦦

🎨🌈 This morning, we got our color on during our exciting Color Run, the culminating event of our Color-A-Thon fundraiser supporting literacy initiatives at Rivers Edge Elementary!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our families, friends, and community, we raised nearly $5,000 to support literacy and learning opportunities for our students. We do not take your support for granted, and we are truly grateful for every donation.

A special thank you to our amazing PTO, dedicated parent volunteers, and everyone who helped make today’s event such a success.

From the laughter and smiles to the colorful fun, our Otters had an absolute blast!

Dear Rivers Edge Families,

I take immense pride in leading this school and in the work our faculty and staff do each day to serve our students and families. We are continually striving to improve, and your feedback plays a critical role in helping us understand what we are doing well and where we can grow.

If you could take just a few moments to complete the Family Survey, I would be sincerely grateful. At this time, we have only reached 3% participation, and I know there are many more voices and perspectives that deserve to be heard. Our campus is surrounded by incredible Florida wildlife and natural ecosystems, making it the perfect outdoor classroom!

🌱 Wilderness Club members will have opportunities to:

🎉 What an incredible turnout as we celebrated Hispanic Heritage at Rivers Edge!

Thank you to all of our families who joined us this evening to celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of the Hispanic community. It was wonderful to see so many students, families, and staff coming together for such a meaningful event.

A special thank you goes to our REE staff for their hard work, creativity, and dedication in planning and hosting an outstanding evening for our school community. Your efforts helped make this celebration both memorable and impactful.
