Another 2 weeks of the Citizen's academy focused on many different topics!

Students learned how deputies conduct traffic stops and also the process of an OWI investigation. Then our students conducted their own mock traffic stops, gaining better understanding of the procedures and responsibilities involved in these important law enforcement duties. Our students got hands - on experience learning about the DAAT system: applying handcuffs, using the WRAP restraint system and practicing defensive tactics. They even had the opportunity to fire training cartridges from the Taser 10.

💙Special thank you to Sgt. DeSmidt, Deputy Davies, Deputy Tutas, Lt. Arndt, Lt. Airaudi, Sgt. Ronan and Deputy Valente for instructing this week's class and sharing their knowledge and experience!

👏🏻Great work to all of our academy participants as they continue learning and building their understanding of law enforcement!

Being a dispatcher is more than just answering calls- it's being the calm voice in stressful moments, the connection between the community and first responders, and the unseen support behind so many emergency responses.

For over 40 years, Chris Hill has dedicated himself to this important role, making a difference one call at a time!

Please join us in congratulating Chris on his well-deserved retirement and thanking him for the many years he has given to our dispatching profession. Thank you for being a voice people could count on for more than four decades! 💙📞
