Today marks the start of Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW): a week to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and build greater understanding of mental illness in communities across our state.

Nearly 1 million Wisconsinites live with a mental illness. They are our friends, our family members, our neighbors, our coworkers, and members of every community.

This week, we’ll be sharing information, resources, and reminders that help us better understand mental illness and support one another. Because mental illness is part of Wisconsin, and so are hope, support, and recovery.
