🌧️🌳 Winter Prep Wednesday – Week 2! 🌳🌧️

Look up! Look around! Get storm ready!

Strong winds, heavy rain, and saturated soil can turn weak trees and branches into dangerous hazards.

🏡 This week, take a walk around your property and check for dead branches, leaning trees, and anything that could become a hazard during a storm.

⚠️ Remember: Never attempt to remove branches near power lines. Leave that to the professionals!

🌧️ Prepare early. Stay informed. Stay safe.

Happy First Day of Fall from the Porterville Fire Department! 🚒🍂

Today marks the Fall Equinox, when day and night are about equal, temperatures start cooling down, and pumpkin spice officially takes over everything. 🎃☕

But while you’re enjoying the cooler weather, remember: fall doesn’t mean fire season is over. Dry vegetation, warm afternoons, and windy conditions can still create dangerous fire conditions.

So enjoy the changing season, break out the hoodies, and leave the fire to us! 🔥

Early this morning, Porterville Fire Department crews were dispatched to a reported structure fire after occupants reported an unusual odor inside the building.

Upon arrival, firefighters conducted a thorough assessment of the structure to identify any signs of fire or other hazards. Crews were unable to locate a source of the odor or identify any immediate hazards.

After completing their assessment, firefighters cleared the scene and released the building back to the buisness manager.
