We are still thinking about last Saturday and the amazing volunteers and our pals Recycled Living

We are gonna do this AGAIN this Saturday October 24th! We will start at 10:00 Am at WeShine’s Parkrose Community Village located at the awesome Parkrose Community United Church of Christ DM us and will send you more details! It feels to great to come together and create safe and dignified spaces for our unhoused neighbors! Our Micro-Villages are the best!

We’re three weeks away from our Building People Power for Community Impact event!

Join us on Tuesday, November 10th from 6:00PM - 8:00PM for an evening grounded in relationship building, mutual aid, and grassroots organizing. This is your chance to connect directly with neighbors and local organizations doing vital work along the SE 82nd Ave corridor.

Come learn how we can work toward community-led solutions together! Snacks and drinks will be provided, and every donation made to these non-profits during the event gets you entries into the raffle (with items provided by each participating organization!)

We are building with at least a cadre of 30 volunteers from WeShine and Recycled Living building the porch covers for our sweet Parkrose Community Village! Community partners, volunteers, staff, villagers and donors made this all possible! Shout out again to the awesome Sound Foundations NW Parkrose Community United Church of Christ Portland Shed LMC Construction and more! We love this community!

October 10th is At WeShine we know this is not something we celebrate but we acknowledge all the different ways folks can be unhoused, unsheltered, living in a car, couch surfing, living in a shelter, etc,. We also acknowledge that while WeShine focuses on single adults in PDX that there are currently families with young children and teens alone on the street in our communities who need immediate support. Homelessness is a worldwide problem. There are many pathways to reduce it and hopefully one day end it. We want people to be supported and cared for. We want neighborhoods to welcome their unhoused neighbors into their communities so folks can feel like they are in community. We know that feeling a part of community helps healing! WeShine is an acronym for: Welcoming, Empowering, Safe, Habitation, Initiative with Neighborhood Involvement! Check out World Homeless Day

We are excited to partner with our non profit friends at Portland Chamber Music for a free concert at Parkrose Community United Church of Christ Come hear this fabulous ensemble and hear a presentation about WeShine!
