On Friday, we were honored to host the Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce at Centennial High School. Among these community leaders were a few Centennial alumni that we were more than happy to welcome back into the building.

Being able to connect with the community in our own building reminds us about how important our work is in developing our students to become contributing community members of the future.

Thank you to the Gresham Chamber of Commerce for spending Friday morning with us!

September 15 is National IT Professionals Day!

Information Technology (IT) staff are an important part of keeping our District running smoothly. From fixing computer issues to safeguarding sensitive data, these staff members work diligently every day to support students and staff.

In Centennial, these staff comprise our Instructional Technology Center (ITC). As a department, the ITC team helps to create effective and meaningful learning environments leveraging technology and tools that contribute to equitable learning and student achievement.

Thank you ITC team for all you do!

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated each year from September 15 to October 15, honoring the histories, cultures, and contributions of individuals whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America.

Hispanic Heritage Month does not cover one single month but instead begins in the middle of September and ends in the middle of October. The timeframe of this month is significant because several Latin American countries celebrate their independence days within these dates. By aligning with these independence dates, Hispanic Heritage Month honors the resilience and determination of the Hispanic/Latino/Latinx community.

It's National Arts in Education Week!

Arts education provides students with opportunities to create, express themselves, and be part of their community.

In this video, you'll hear firsthand from Centennial students and staff about the ways in which arts education in our District helps to build belonging - one of our areas of focus in our Roadmap '27 strategic plan work.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Yesterday, staff from all schools and District departments gathered for our annual Convocation celebration to connect, celebrate school and department spirit, and share in our collective excitement as we prepare to welcome back our students next week.

A huge thanks to 2026 Centennial graduate Yahir Castro for sharing his perspective as an alumni with our staff during this event!
