The Portland Area Fire Authority is proud to celebrate Kim Patrick-Chapman as she retires after 35 years of service to the Portland area.

Kim served in many roles, including firefighter, fire marshal, and paramedic. She was someone people could count on—both at the department and in the community. Through her extensive work with the American Red Cross, Kim helped connect people with resources and support when they needed it most. She also spent many years serving as a full-time paramedic with Portland Ambulance.

Kim, your dedication and care have made a difference in more lives than we can count. As you begin retirement, we hope you know how grateful we are for all you’ve given to this community.

Enjoy retirement, 833. You’ve earned it!

The Portland Area Fire Authority is proud to recognize Assistant Fire Chief Dave Donbrock as he begins a well-earned retirement.

Dave dedicated 37 years to the fire service, including the past 20 years serving the Portland area. He brought years of experience from his prior department in Ohio and served PAFA in many roles as a firefighter, emergency medical technician, fire officer and as an instructor. His background in the trucking industry made him a trusted resource for vehicle maintenance, and his deep knowledge of the department’s history helped preserve the stories and traditions that connect our members.

Dave’s impact reaches far beyond the roles he held. His humor, loyalty, and care for the job and the people beside him have left a lasting impression on this department. His presence will be missed, but the knowledge, memories, and example he leaves behind will remain part of PAFA.

Thank you for 37 years of service, 802. You’ve given so much to the fire service and our community. Enjoy the retirement you’ve earned.
