I am wishing a meaningful Yom Kippur to the Jewish community across Michigan and around the world!

Today marks the holiest day of the Jewish year, a time of reflection, repentance, and renewal. This day carries even more weight at a time when Jewish families deserve to feel safe and supported in their own communities.

I will always stand firmly with the Jewish community in this state and across this country. I am praying for an easy fast and for a year ahead filled with peace!

West Michigan Republicans are showing up for each other, and I am proud to be part of it!

Over the past few days, I attended several events in support of our fellow GOP candidates. I was privileged to present a tribute along with John James, honoring Herbruck's Poultry Ranch, a fourth-generation family business that has meant so much to Ionia County and to agriculture across this state.

I also spoke at an event in support of Terri DeBoer, who is fighting to flip a congressional seat and send real leadership to Washington.

This is what unity looks like heading into November. We are not backing down, and we are not letting up!

Two hundred and thirty-nine years ago, delegates in Philadelphia signed the document that has held this country together ever since.

It was written to limit government power and keep the people in charge, and that idea is under more pressure now than I have seen in my lifetime. We must all do our part to defend it.

Twenty-five years ago, our country watched the unthinkable happen, and we watched first responders run toward it anyway. This week, the Michigan House held its annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony honoring the lives lost that day, and I brought Sheriff Rich Martin of the Lake County Sheriff's Office - Michigan to the Capitol as my special guest.

The people who run toward danger for a living do not do it for recognition, but they deserve it anyway. Thank you, Sheriff Martin, and every other first responder, for your service and for standing with all of us this week.
