Student Community Engagement Center The Student Community Engagement Center is the hub for civic engagement at Portland State. Welcome to the Student Community Engagement Center!

Located in SMSU M103 (in the Hub for Service & Sustainability), we are the hub for volunteer opportunities and programs on campus and in the Portland community. We run several programs: The SLS Member Team, Mentor Alder Portland State (MAPS), Alternative Spring Break, large scale Days of Service, Serve Your City/Serve Your Campus projects, and more. By liking this page, you will get notifications of upcoming events and application deadlines. It does not necessarily mean you are a member of one of the leadership teams -- generally that membership is decided by an application process. If you're looking to volunteer, either to fulfill hours for a class, explore something you're passionate about, or just to meet people in a different setting, stop by our office or email us at [email protected]. Year Long Programs:
Student Leaders for Service
MAPS - Mentor: Alder and Portland State

Term-Long Programs:
ASB – Alternative Spring Break (includes pre-trip meetings)

Day Long Programs:
Portland State of Mind Day of Service - October
MLK Day of Service - January
Earth Day of Service - April
“Serve your City” Projects – Monthly by arrangement
College Days (Partnership with Alder Elementary)

The Student Community Engagement Center is excited and energized! Come visit us in the Hub for Service & Sustainability, in SMSU m103!
