Local 2856 is doing an in house State certified Extrication class. Brothers 👨🏻‍🚒Battalion Chief Brown, 👨🏻‍🚒Captain Gallatin, and 👨🏻‍🚒Engineer Williams are teaching the next generation of KCFR. ⛓️

🔧 Extrication is the process of freeing, releasing or removing patients from a crashed motor vehicle entrapment, entanglement or confined spaces. 🕳️
Firefighters 🚒 often use hydraulic and power tools often called “the jaws of life” to accomplish these tasks.

Thank you for your dedication to serving others!

Local 2856 Kootenai County Firefighters is Proud to welcome our new brothers! Congratulations!

Today we celebrate National First Responders Day and recognize the individuals who stand ready 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to protect and serve our community.

When emergencies happen, first responders are there. They provide help during life's most challenging moments and offer reassurance when it is needed most.

To all first responders and their families: thank you for your dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to public service. Your work strengthens our community and makes a lasting difference in the lives of those you serve.

🚒🚑🚓 Thank you for all that you do.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

We’re excited to share that Capone’s is partnering with FJH Initiative throughout the month of November!

Every Tuesday in November, 10% of all food sales at all three Capone’s locations will benefit FJH Initiative and our mission to create meaningful mentorship and outdoor experiences for youth in our community.

We’re so grateful to the Capone’s team for helping us carry Frank’s legacy forward and for supporting opportunities for youth to build meaningful connections, confidence, and a sense of belonging.

Mark your calendars, plan a Tuesday dinner out, and help us spread the word!

What happens when you put young people in the outdoors with a mentor who is there to listen, encourage and simply show up?

Sometimes the best conversations happen when you’re not sitting across a table from each other.

You’re hiking.

Fishing.

Riding bikes.

Trying something new.

Laughing.

Maybe failing.

Trying again.

The activity gives us a reason to be together.

The relationship is what matters.

That’s FJH.

If you believe in what we’re building, we’d love your vote in Coeur d’Alene Living’s 2026 Finest.

FJH isn’t just about the experiences.

It’s about the people who show up for them.

Our mentors make a commitment to build a relationship with a young person—not just for one afternoon or one adventure, but for the long haul.

They listen.

They encourage.

They show up.

They celebrate the wins and stick around for the hard days.

That consistency matters.

And it’s a huge part of what makes FJH possible.

If you believe every young person deserves someone in their corner, please consider voting for FJH Initiative.
