Community Notice – Please Be Cautious of Donation Scams

Following the devastating Agri Star fire that occurred yesterday, July 28, 2026, many people are looking for ways to help those affected. Unfortunately, situations like this can also attract scammers who create fake fundraisers or claim to be collecting donations.

Before donating:

Verify that the fundraiser is being organized by the affected family, business, or a trusted local organization.

Be cautious of unsolicited messages asking for money through cash apps or gift cards.

If you're unsure, contact the business or a verified local source directly before making a donation.

Report suspicious fundraising posts or accounts to the platform they're posted on.

The generosity of our community is one of its greatest strengths. Taking a few moments to verify where your donation is going helps ensure your support reaches those who truly need it.

Please share this message to help protect our community from fraud.
