We are a small, professional and dedicated group of law enforcement professionals serving a community known for its educational and cultural opportunities and events. We have a long, successful history in traditional law enforcement functions such as: criminal investigations; vehicle and traffic enforcement; crime suppression; latent evidence collection and search and rescue. We also pride ourselves in our service oriented approach to our community. We are a proactive force that embraces technology and creative solutions. Potsdam is the host community for Clarkson University and SUNY Potsdam. We work side by side with campus police and security forces as well as with federal, state, county and other local agencies. We often host advanced training opportunities for area police agencies and continually send our personnel throughout the region for specialized instruction. Our patrol force can be seen in marked vehicles, on foot, bicycle and Segways. At times, our officers are less visible while working in plainclothes or undercover assignments. We are of course, open for business 24 hours per day and look forward to answering your questions or providing any necessary service. Please feel free to stop by, call or email us with any questions, comments or suggestions. Our main department email is listed on the page, and each of our individual officers emails are listed on our website, www.potsdampolice.com.
