If you or someone you know, may have witnessed or experienced similar conduct involving Tate on the morning of August 31, 2026, to contact the Sheriff’s Office and speak with an investigator.

On August 31, 2026, at approximately 6:45 a.m., Grayson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Quail Creek Circle in Pottsboro following a report of a naked male outside his residence in view of children waiting for a school bus, as well as children aboard the school bus.

Deputies contacted a witness who provided a description of the male and identified the residence to which he had returned. Deputies responded to the residence and identified the male as Yancy Tate.

As the investigation continued, deputies and investigators identified additional witnesses who reported observing Tate outside his residence that morning with his ge****ls exposed while allegedly performing sexual acts upon himself.

Based on information gathered during the investigation, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office deputies and investigators developed probable cause and obtained a warrant for Tate’s arrest.
Tate was subsequently arrested and charged with Indecency with a Child by Exposure, Indecent Exposure, and Public Lewdness.

Tate is currently being held in the Grayson County Jail on a $120,000 bond.

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone who may have witnessed or experienced similar conduct involving Tate on the morning of August 31, 2026, to contact the Sheriff’s Office and speak with an investigator.

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office would also like to extend a special thank you to a Pottsboro ISD bus driver whose quick thinking and actions helped prevent additional children from being exposed to the incident. We appreciate the driver’s awareness and willingness to take immediate action to protect the children in their care.

These are initial charges, and all allegations are subject to the judicial process. Tate is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

PATROL WORK LEADS TO CO***NE SEIZURE AND ADDITIONAL FELONY CHARGE

On July 10 at approximately 11:00 a.m., Grayson County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies stopped a vehicle traveling north on U.S. Highway 75.

With assistance from the Pottsboro Police Department K9 team, deputies developed probable cause to search the vehicle. During the search, they located and seized just over two pounds of suspected co***ne.

The driver, Uneal Luease Davis of Missouri, was arrested. During the follow-up investigation, deputies developed evidence indicating Davis was involved in the trafficking of several women across multiple states. Investigators obtained an additional arrest warrant related to that activity.

Davis remains in the Grayson County Jail charged with:

Possession of a Controlled Substance, 400 Grams or More
Online Promotion of Prostitution

This case demonstrates that patrol work extends far beyond answering calls. Proactive enforcement, careful observation, strong interagency cooperation, and thorough follow-up can uncover criminal activity that reaches well beyond a single traffic stop.

We appreciate the work of our patrol deputies and the assistance of the Pottsboro Police Department K9 team.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
