We would like to congratulate G3 Lt.Jimmy Brugger on his retirement. Lt. Brugger started his career on Engine 1 before sliding over to Ladder 1. After his promotion he was assigned to Engine 3 on Ho**er Ave. Lt thanks for the 27 years of service to the City of Poughkeepsie and its resident and visitors. Congrats Brother Enjoy it see you during the Holy Season.

The members of the City of Poughkeepsie PBA are saddened to learn of the passing of retired member Luis Juncosa. Luis began his career with the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department in 1982 and retired in 2009. Upon his retirement, Luis remained active in the PBA and served as a liaison between current and retired members until his passing. Beyond that, Luis was well known in the Hudson Valley Law Enforcement Community through his work with the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 333 and tireless volunteer work for first responders in need. Luis was a staple on Main Street where he and his wife, Janet, owned and operated 911 uniforms for nearly 30 years before its closing in 2023. In May of 2023, the PBA presented Luis with a plaque in recognition of his continued involvement and steadfast support of the City of Poughkeepsie PBA. The “Crazy Cuban” frequently visited police headquarters and was always eager to smile and share a story and we were always eager to listen. He never missed a walk out and was first in line to shake someone’s hand when they joined the retirement club. Luis knew every single member of the PBA, past and present, and treated every member like family and we owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude. The members of The City of Poughkeepsie PBA offer our sincere condolences to Janet and all of Luis’ family and friends during this difficult time.

Rest In Peace, Luis. Thank you isn’t enough.
