Now that we're at capacity, we will no longer be holding a third sign-up day which was scheduled for this coming Tuesday.

Mayor Flowers joined state and county leaders to officially kick off the project, which will create 187 critically-needed housing units that families and hard-working people can afford.

Let’s move the City of Poughkeepsie forward!

🪖 ❤️🤍💙 During World War 2 in March 1945, an American soldier was killed on a bridge over the Rhine River as U.S. forces pushed deeper into N**i Germany. Newspapers across the nation published an iconic photo of the fallen hero, but his identity was a mystery until this year.

Through painstaking research, an international team of researchers finally identified the man in the photo as Private First Class Charles T. Plog of Poughkeepsie, New York.

On this Memorial Day, the City of Poughkeepsie honors PFC Plog and all of the courageous men and women who have given their lives for our country.

(Special thank you to Karen Lagrange Cox and the researchers who identified Plog in the photo.)

🪖❤️ 🤍 💙 Please join us this Sunday at 3PM at the Soldiers' Memorial Fountain (intersection of Market and Montgomery Streets) for a Memorial Day ceremony, organized by Lafayette Post 37 of the American Legion.

As a community, let’s gather to show our gratitude and remember the courageous men and women who gave everything for our country and our freedoms.

🚛🌳 Big shoutout to our sanitation workers who are out at the crack of dawn every Wednesday to collect countless bags of leaves and yard debris across the city.

A quick reminder of what they can pick up:
✅ Leaves
✅ Grass clippings
✅ Brush (no longer than 3 feet)
✅ Garden and yard debris
✅ Use biodegradable bags and trash cans (with no garbage inside)

🚒💧HYDRANT TESTING: Check the link to see if your street is on this week’s list!

During the testing period, the water is safe, but should be run until it’s clear. And use caution when doing white laundry. It’s recommended to wait 24 to 48 hours after testing has been done in your neighborhood.

We appreciate your patience. Hydrant testing is critical to make sure they work during emergencies.
