Today, the Arlington Fire District pauses to honor and remember the brave men and women of our United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer, it is a solemn reminder of the courage, dedication, and selflessness displayed by those who gave their lives protecting the freedoms we enjoy every day.
As firefighters, EMT’s, Paramedics, and public servants, we understand the meaning of sacrifice, duty, and service above self. We are forever grateful to the fallen heroes and the families who continue to carry their legacy forward.
On behalf of the membership of the Arlington Fire District, we thank all who have served and especially remember those who never made it home.
Please take a moment today to reflect, remember, and honor.

Yesterday, May 3, the Arlington Fire District was proud to participate in the Town of Town of Poughkeepsie Community Day at Greenville Park. It was a great day with an outstanding turnout from the community.
The event showcased many of the essential services that help keep our town running each day, including police, fire, public utilities, and other community partners. Families also enjoyed a variety of food vendors, activities, and games for the kids, making it a fun day for everyone.
We’re proud to serve and be part of such a strong and supportive community. We hope everyone is enjoying the early start to spring and the beautiful weather we have this week.
Have a safe and great week ahead!

On Friday, the Arlington Fire District hosted the CPCA, local leaders including Senator Rob Rolison, the Town of Poughkeepsie Police, and other emergency services partners at out Headquarters for the annual Pinwheels for Prevention display.
The pinwheels, displayed on our front lawn, serve as the national symbol of prevention, representing the bright, happy, and carefree childhood every child deserves, as well as our shared responsibility to protect it.
The Arlington Fire District is proud to support the CPCA in its mission to keep the children of our community safe. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this important event.

This past weekend, our volunteer members had the opportunity to attend the Spring Event at Poughkeepsie Plaza, and what a great day it was. The turnout from the community was tremendous, and it was awesome to see so many familiar faces and meet new ones as well.
We are always proud to be a part of events that bring our community together. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hello, and showed their support. It’s because of you that we’re able to continue doing what we do.

This week, the members of the Arlington Fire District have been hard at work conducting ice water rescue training and cold-water response drills.
These evolutions are designed to sharpen our skills and ensure we are fully prepared in the event of a cold-water emergency. Training in realistic conditions helps us refine our techniques, strengthen teamwork, and maintain the high level of readiness our community deserves.
On-duty crews train daily to be at their very best, because emergencies don’t wait, and neither do we.
We are proud to serve as your firefighters. Stay safe.
