Our team was proud to share information about the resources available through the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office and discuss the important work of our Elder Abuse Task Force. Protecting older adults from abuse, exploitation, fraud, and neglect remains a priority, and opportunities like this help ensure seniors and their families know where to turn for assistance and support.

Members of the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Special Victims Unit recently attended the 21st Annual Conference on Crimes Against Women, a nationally recognized training bringing together prosecutors, law enforcement professionals, victim advocates, and subject matter experts dedicated to combating violence against women and protecting vulnerable victims.
This specialized training provides critical education on the investigation and prosecution of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, child abuse, human trafficking, offender behavior, trauma-informed practices, and strategies designed to better support victims while strengthening criminal cases.
The work of prosecuting crimes against women and children demands constant learning and collaboration. By investing in advanced training and professional development, our Special Victims Unit continues to enhance its ability to hold offenders accountable, support survivors, and pursue justice with skill, compassion, and dedication.
The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office remains committed to ensuring our prosecutors and victim advocates have access to the most current training and best practices to serve victims and keep our community safe.

Today, the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office joins communities across our nation in solemnly honoring the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in defense of our country.
Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who answered the call to serve and never returned home. Their bravery, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting the freedoms we hold dear will never be forgotten.
We also recognize the families of our fallen service members whose strength and sacrifice continue long after the battle has ended.
May we always remember the cost of freedom and strive to live in a way that honors the legacy of those who gave everything for this nation. From all of us at the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office, we thank and remember our fallen heroes today and every day.

The Dutchess County Analysis and Real Time Crime Intelligence Center (ARTCIC) recently played a critical role in assisting law enforcement agencies in locating a suspect vehicle, leading to a traffic stop in the Town of Poughkeepsie that resulted in the recovery of three loaded illegal handguns and the arrest of four individuals.
Through proactive intelligence gathering, real-time analysis, and the rapid dissemination of actionable information to partnering law enforcement agencies, ARTCIC provided critical intelligence that assisted investigators and patrol officers throughout the incident. Over the past month alone, ARTCIC analysts have supplied real-time intelligence to officers in the field that has contributed to several successful investigations and criminal apprehensions.
