Womenโ€™s History Month is special in Washington, where trailblazing women have made indelible marks on our progress over generations. From the early civil rights achievements of people like Corinne Carter and Bertha Pitts Campbell to the cultural influence today of women like Brandi Carlile and Ijeoma Oluo, Washingtonians have many examples to take pride in.

Our office serves the people of our state through enforcing consumer protection, civil rights, and environmental protection laws. Among many other cases over the last year, our office has secured compensation for women farmworkers who were unjustly fired; taken multiple employers to court for tolerating a culture of sexual harassment; and fought a national employer that systematically discriminated and retaliated against its pregnant employees. Womenโ€™s voices matter in Washington, and their history is very much a part of our present.
